Cycling For Environment
Valsad Cycling club was established by Nature Club Valsad in March 2012
with the aim of making the town cyclist friendly and to propagate a healthy
lifestyle amongst the people of Valsad especially the youngsters through
cycling. It was initiated by Mr. Pritesh Patel, the founder of NCV and Kavan
Desai, a volunteer in NCV. The two youngsters had a substantial experience
of cycling as a result of covering thousands of kilometers in expeditions
such as Manali- Leh which is considered to be one of the toughest on road
trails. Since last two years, the club has also initiated local bike rides
to places such as dangs and Wilson hill. there is also a weekly ride to
close by places like Tithal, Parnera and Dharasana.
The club encourages all
the leading citizens of the town to save fossil fuel and use bicycles to
commute to their workplaces. It does biking trips to rural schools around
the district to spread the message of nature conservation. It also
organises cycling rallies on World environment day around the town. It
undertakes cycling cum birdwatching treks in the countryside. Currently
there are about 10 members in the club. In order to be an immaculate member
of a flock of sheep. one must above all be a sheep oneself. Therefore, join
the Valsad Cycling club to rejoice the sport of biking at the same time
conserving the environment.
"Cyclers see considerable more of this beautiful world than any other
class of citizens. A good bicycle, well applied, will cure most ills this

flesh is heir to."
